MARCINKIEWICZ REMBRANDT
At THE TRUMPET SHOP, we don't just say "This horn is great. Buy it." We tell you why it's great.
The name Marcinkiewicz is synonymous with innovation. Here's why:
Intonation:
Low D and C# are much more in tune, minimizing use of the 3rd valve slide. You won't even need to use the 1st valve slide.
5th harmonic (4th line D, Eb, and E) is on the money, instead of being flat in between 2 sharp partials, facilitating fast or difficult passages.
Upper harmonics are in tune, helping with upper register work.
Slotting:
Accurate slotting for ease of play.
Softer slotting, like the classic Benge's and Martin Committees, allows flexibility and bending. These live, active slots allow you to personalize your playing.
Positioning of braces is optimized for more accurate slotting.
Tolerances:
Tight tolerances in the valves and slides to maintain the focus of sound and intonation.
No valve alignment needed! They're perfect, radially and vertically. Don't touch them.
Craftsmanship & Detail:
Patented Shepherds Crook design for freer blow, wider dynamic range, and even more feedback. This is not your grandfather's Shepherds Crook.
Solid nickel leadpipe on all Rembrandts - never worry about red rot again!
Parts made from scratch vs. prefabricated parts with lower quality and tolerances.
Valves and ports silver plated before final honing.
Multiple annealing process to relieve metal stress, giving a very live, vibrant instrument.
Reverse-bevelled bottom valve caps to prevent oil from leaking all over you.
Extra thick sterling silver / 24k gold plating.
"Grease release" indents in the valve slide inner tubing to hold slide grease and minimize mess. Think the mass-produced guys will re-tool their plants for that kind of detail? Think again.
Multiple bell, leadpipe, and upgrade options available on any horn for a custom fit.
Highest Quality Control: Each instrument is hand-made to order and tested by Joe Marcinkiewicz himself, with attention given to every detail.
OK enough of this. We're running out of room!
The most innovative flugel on the market today. Played by recording artist Rick Braun.
Big 5 1/4" bell, 0.464" L bore, reversed lead pipe. Big versatile sound, for Classical, Jazz, solo, and lead work.

“The turn of the century cornets had ‘that sound’; the modern cornets project but are either bright or dull. Joe’s cornet has it all. It’s warm, intimate, and flexible like the historical cornets, it projects like the newer ones. On top of that, it has an even blow throughout registers and it is in tune. This is a wonderful musical instrument”

The Marcinkiewicz Vermeer Model C-One is The “Classic” C Trumpet. Great intonation and blends warmth with presence. Great for all situations.
The NEW!!! Marcinkiewicz™ Rembrandt™ Model C464TM and Rembrandt™ Model C464X™ design concepts incorporated in this trumpet, such as the overall bell design with red brass material (higher copper content 85% vs.70% of yellow brass), elongated valve casing (EV), extended valve for additional resonance area and our new longer lead pipe design for more stability, create the finest playing C trumpet that you will ever experience.
The Marcinkiewicz™ Rembrandt™ Model C464™ C Trumpet is truly a joy to play. It can sound as the player wishes . If you approach this instrument with a sound concept that is full, rich and dark, you will get a full, rich and dark sound. If you approach it with a sound concept that is delicate, focused and clear, the trumpet will sound delicate, focused and clear. This instrument weighs only two ounces more than a standard 'C' trumpet, and these two ounces add much more.
Marcinkiewicz™ Rembrandt™ Model C464X™
The Rembrandt™ Model C464X™ has the same characteristics as the Rembrandt™ Model C464™ however, because of the larger bell, it allows the player more projection and sound.
Quite possibly the best C trumpet you will ever play. Model shown is a Rembrandt C464X L bore with optional satin gold finish (not included in price shown).
Amazing high-end cornet! The unique double Shepherd's Crook design gives this horn unmatched playability and sound.

SOME HISTORY: "For years Joe Marcinkiewicz, along with many pro and amateur players alike, have been frustrated and disappointed with the availability of a good playing in-tune flugel horn. After years of testing and trying the typical stuff, Joe decided it was time to try and make one of his own.
The first prototype flugel was first made in 2000, having many of the same problematic issues as the industry horns already being produced. This first horn gave us a wonderful opportunity to find the problematic areas in traditional horn design. One of the biggest issues in flugel horn design is the dramatic change in bore size. Most Flugel horns being produced are small bore typically 0.413-0.440". Joe tried making the bore much bigger, a 0.459" bore size, similar to many ML bore trumpets. The effect was dramatic! Making the horn in a bigger bore size vastly improved the response and playability.
Marcinkiewicz then incorporated a shepherd's crook bell bend. The shepherds crook takes all the resistance out of the horn, allowing the player to move the air easier, giving a bigger sound with less effort. The key is efficiency. Making the air flow more efficient made the horn play better! It’s a simple principle: air travels better through less constrictive tubing. So by eliminating the tight bends, the air travels with less resistance.
Along with using a bigger bore and a shepherd’s crook bell bend, we realized that how fast the bell flairs determines the playability. By changing the rate of flair, it changes how the air flows through and out the horn. Optimizing the bell flair gave the flugel an unmatched tone. Once these changes were applied we were then able to address tuning issues.
Rather then use a traditional telescoping leadpipe for tuning, we designed and used a traditional tuning slide, allowing for a truer tuning method. Following the idea of the shepherd's crook, we then incorporated the crook design into the tuning slide, and third valve slide. Once all the changes were made the horn played drastically differently. It played in tune!
With these improvements our horn not only plays in tune with correct intonation and slotting, but you get a horn that is a hand-made piece of art! There is no other horn like it today. Rick Braun, Mic Gillette, and Vince Mai are some of the artists playing our flugel horn." Zack Marcinkiewicz, Marcinkiewicz Co., Inc.
Huge blow 0.470" bore, thinner 4 3/4" bell, excellent tone, warmth with brilliance, good intonation...the closest trumpet ever made to what Claude Gordon actually wanted!
